Drayton Valley RCMP report: March 5 – March 12

March 5

9:31 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting 2 males in a small grey car are stunting at the bus hub. One male is riding on the hood while the other videotapes. Member attended and spoke with the complainant who advised the vehicle had just left.

9:51 am – Cynthia – Complainant reporting fraud. Charges have been put onto their credit card without approval.

12:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting their 1999 F-250 Truck had the driver’s side lock punched out. Vehicle had not been entered.

12:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting a male and female entered the store and attempted to steal an ice cream sandwich. Product was turned over when confronted.

1:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Thrift Shop – Complainant reporting suspicious males in the thrift store. Member attended. Males were going through dumpster.

2:36 pm – Brazeau county – RR 494 – Complainant reporting a traffic hazard. Piece of lumber on hwy. Member attended and recovered and moved wood.

9:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting they evicted their tenants on March 1 and they have broken into their residence. Lights are on in the basement. Members attended, no sign of forced entry, owner let members in and residence cleared.

10:38 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting they told their landlord they would be out of the apartment at the end of February, however they are still in the process of moving out. Complainant received a text from landlord’s agent advising they were in the apartment. Members contacted all parties.

March 6

2:25 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting intoxicated male left the bar in a blue Chevrolet truck with a snow machine in the back. Member made patrols, vehicle not located.

3:52 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting a dispute. Ex is outside room throwing dishes and arguing. Members attended, both parties separated.

8:23 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Related to previous occurrence, female was back yelling attempting to kick door down. Members attended, verbal dispute, member assisted with recovery of belongings.

10:23 am – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant requesting assistance to enter residence with health inspector. Member attended spoke with homeowner who allowed entry. No further issues.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male carrying a baseball bat. Wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants with a black and white backpack. Member was in the area at the time of the call, several patrols made with negative results.

12:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting several children are fighting in a front yard. Members attended, no one observed. Neighbourhood inquiries were negative.

1:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting males are being aggressive with each other. Member attended. Complainant advised males had left area before members attended. Complainant advised they did not know who they were, they were blocking the way to the bank.

2:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious person in a white honda. One occupant, has driven past waving. Complainant did not recognize vehicle. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

8:29 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant requesting assistance. 16-year-old son is at home, landlord has turned off the gas, power and water.

9:04 PM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a erratic driver in a black Chevrolet truck towing a trailer with two sleds on it. Driver is speeding and passing dangerously. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.

March 7

4:55 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – Complainant reporting their Black 2014 ford F-150 was just stolen. Member made patrols, vehicle not located.

7:07 am – Drayton valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 males are moving through the alley looking through the garbage cans. Member attended and made patrols in the area, males not located.

10:14 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to their store overnight. Entry made through back door. Multiple items stolen. Surveillance viewed, members identified known male as 31-year-old Addison Jean. Jean arrested and held for a bail hearing. Justice of Peace released Jean on $2000 no cash.

2:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting their neighbour’s garage was open. Member attended and closed garage, no evidence of break-in.

4:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 males are on the property going through the dumpster and shouldn’t be there as they are banned. Members attended, suspects identified however not located.

8:01 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Road 504 – Complainant reporting their mailbox was damaged. Complainant saw a suspicious person in a high visibility vest holding a hammer near the time of the damage. Mailbox had been pried open.

10:17 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver heading towards Lodgepole. Vehicle is a red Kenworth empty logging truck. Driver is flashing high beams and tailgating. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.

March 8

12:44 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle with a headlight out. Warning issued.

3:23 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – 911 hangup received. Member attended, subjects had already left. Known female had called. Member located female who advised there was no problem.

3:56 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop which resulted in a offence ticket for invalid insurance.

6:08 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their Buick Allure. Member attended.

1:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter overnight. Front door open, appeared to be jimmied. Members attended and searched residence, no one there. Renter arrived while members were inside. No issues. No Break and Enter

2:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting an impaired driver with 2 passengers is coming from Tomahawk. Members attended and patrolled area, vehicle not located.

4:41 PM – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a fraud. Complainant purchased a phone for $100, the person who sold it to them have now reported the phone stolen. Phone can not be unlocked.

5:21 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Landlord-tenant issue. Complainant is reporting that someone is posting slanderous comments on Facebook.

7:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal-Mart – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 2 persons in a Blue Chevrolet Crossover are in the parking lot. Customer reported earlier that they had been drinking in the vehicle. Windows are now fogged up and they heard someone yelling. Members attended, vehicle not located.

9:49 pm – Drayton Valley – Recycle Lot – Complainant reporting suspicious activity while they were unloading cardboard. A white car stopped beside their vehicle and the passenger door opened and closed when they came around the bin and walked towards vehicle. Patrols were made, no vehicle matching the description was located.

9:55 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. A warning was issued to driver for having a tail light out.

10:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Member conducted a traffic stop and issued a offence ticket for invalid insurance.

10:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle possibly related to a break and enter. A white truck pulled up and the complainant believes people went inside residence that is supposed to be vacant. Members attended, persons inside are renting.

10:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a offence ticket for failing to produce operators licence.

March 9

3:51 am – Drayton Valley – RR 73 – Report received of a shooting. Member investigated, bogus call related to vehicle members were following that was suspected to be stolen.

7:11 am – Drayton Valley – Shangri La Lodge – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Pontiac Montana. Member attended, vehicle was running in the parking lot, driver sleeping in vehicle.

8:49 am – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting a possible stolen vehicle, CPIC shows licence plate stolen. Vehicle is a Dark Grey Chevrolet ¾ tonne. Appears to be abandoned. Member attended, vehicle stolen out of Edmonton with a stolen licence plate from Drayton Valley. Vehicle towed.

9:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting someone stole their side by side from their garage sometime over the weekend. 2019 Orange CFMOTO Z FORCE 800 LX.

10:35 am – Drayton Valley – Shangri La Lodge – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in the parking lot. Member attended and located known male who advised they were speaking with their insurance company in order to get their van insured. Once completed, male left

11:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a stalled red mini van by the esso station in Drayton Valley. Members attended, vehicle gone prior to arrival.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of Back GMC Duramax 2500 from parking lot.

1:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – Anonymous complaint received of a male yelling and kicking the front door of a trailer. Member attended and conducted neighbourhood inquiries and located the trailer. Male answered the door and admitted to kicking the door when their girlfriend locked them out.

2:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a fraudulent purchase through Facebook and an e-transfer of $450 towards the purchase of a saddle. Seller refused to provide tracking number for saddle after advising the saddle had been sent.

3:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting they were driving in the back alley when they collided with another vehicle which then struck a third vehicle.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant stated that their licence plate was stolen from their vehicle.

March 10

1:11 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting threats received from individual when invited to attend a presentation on environmental climate control.

9:14 am – Drayton Valley – 41B Avenue – Complainant reporting someone was backing up in their driveway and sideswiped their parked vehicle damaging their wheel well and tire rim.

9:17 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting that they were driving on the highway near Lodgepole when a semi-truck kicked up a rock and smashed their windshield. Member advised that there is no ticket that could be issued, and complainant should contact the company.

11:27 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Traffic members on patrol attempted a traffic stop on a late model grey Honda Odyssey. Vehicle had been reported stolen from Edmonton. Vehicle fled. Drayton Valley members were assisting in locating the vehicle along with members from Evansburg. Vehicle headed north on Hwy 753 from Cynthia where it was intercepted by Evansburg members who followed the vehicle until it ran out of gas. Drayton Valley members assisted with the high risk takedown and subsequent arrest of 8 individuals and recovery of stolen vehicle. Sawed-off shotgun located in vehicle.

12:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting known female is writing on benches at the corner of 51 st and 52 Avenue. Member attended, known female was writing on paper on the benches.

1:52 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant advised that they were traveling southbound on Hwy 753 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with the front of their vehicle.

2:22 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting suspicious jerry can in the west ditch.

2:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report they were backed into while stopped .

3:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Independent Grocery Store – Complainant advised there is a male trying to gain access to a vehicle. Male is wearing a black sweater with white shoes. Male took off when saw someone walking towards the vehicle. Member called the complainant and learned that the male never actually touched the vehicle. Patrols made, male knot located.

3:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report their bike was stolen approximately 6 months ago. Black and white NORCO.

4:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Juniper Manor – Complainant reporting someone stole their android cell phone.

6:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a female is walking out into traffic. Member attended and located known female who was arrested on outstanding warrant from Evansburg. Female held for hearing.

7:59 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting ex has shown up at residence. No contact order in place. Does not wish them charged. Members explained conditions to both parties to ensure they understood.

8:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – Complainant reporting speeding in area. Concerned as there are children in the area. Members to make ongoing patrols.

8:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol spoke with person who had outstanding warrant from Edmonton, male arrested.

8:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 males are stealing licence plates. Members attended and located a vehicle stolen from Red Deer.

9:02 pm – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting an unwanted male, has been cut off and is being belligerent and argumentative. Member attended and provided male with a courtesy ride home.

11:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – complainant reporting intoxicated male that was removed previously wanted to talk with members.

March 11

12:00 midnight – Drayton Valley – 50 A Street – Complainant advised they were following a guy on a bike that may have been stripping wire. Members attended and discovered wire pulled out of a yard into the parking lot.

12:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant left their keys in their Maroon 2008 Chevrolet Silverado which was subsequently stolen.

1:26 am – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Members conducted a curfew check on male who was on conditions to be at residence during certain time period. Male not there. Male later arrested and held for hearing on breach conditions.

5:45 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reporting a suspicious dune buggy driving around the back roads. Members were not advised until 1 and a half hours later

9:13 am – Drayton Valley – Independent Grocery Store – Complainant reporting theft of approximately $1207 worth of makeup. Suspects are a male and female. Female had a green/grey shoulder bag.

11:26 am – Drayton Valley – Beehive Bottle Depot – Complainant reporting a female stole their phone. Members located female who was arrested for theft.

2:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting theft of a 2011 John Deer Skid Steer while parked in the parking lot.

9:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting theft from store. Male entered the store and stole a carton of cigarettes, left on foot towards Rotary Park. Suspect is described as a male approximately 5’6”, slim build, scruffy facial hair wearing a black ball cap, black jacket, and backpack.

9:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their Grey 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with a red slip tank in the back.

10:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Woodvale Apartments – Complainant reporting suspicious male is sitting in a tow truck shining light through their window. Member attended, vehicle gone upon arrival.

March 12

12:01 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop and located a large amount of cannabis, amount greater than 30 grams. Cannabis seized for destruction.

4:30 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious dark-coloured small Ford Focus type vehicle parked across the street. Vehicle has been running for hours, young male in the vehicle. Ongoing for past three nights.

5:10 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music.

5:40 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to compound sometime overnight. Damage to equipment on-site, windows broken, building broken into.

7:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which failed to stop at stop sign. Member issued a warning ticket

7:07 am – Drayton Valley – Walmart Parking Lot – Complainant reporting a dangerous driver in a grey Chrysler Car, missing one headlight and fails to signal. Member attended and located the vehicle, lights were all functioning, warning given with regards to failing to signal.
