Red Deer Public Schools announces administrative appointments for 2020-21

Red Deer Public Schools has announced a list of new administrative appointments for the 2020/2021 school year.

Nicola Golby, current Associate Superintendent, Learning Services, will move to Associate Superintendent, Student Services, while Dan Lower, current Principal at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School has been named Associate Superintendent, Learning Services.

Principals retiring this year include Sue Carmichael, Principal at G.H. Dawe School and Dean Pasiuk, Principal at Westpark Middle School.

“I would like to thank both Sue and Dean for their amazing leadership and service to our District over their many years with Red Deer Public,” said Stu Henry, Superintendent of Schools. “They have been deeply impactful to students and staff alike.”

A number of principal transfers will also take place in the 2020/2021 school year. These include:

– Chris Good, Principal of École Barrie Wilson School to be transferred to Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School

– Colette Pedde, Principal of École Oriole Park School to be transferred to École Barrie Wilson School

– Chris Turnbull, Principal at Glendale Sciences and Technology School, to be transferred to École Oriole Park School

– Braden Kilpatrick, Principal of Aspen Heights School, to be transferred to G.H. Dawe School

– Bill Kwasny, Principal of Joseph Welsh School, to be transferred to Aspen Heights School

– Kelley Lund, currently on a leave of absence to return as Principal at Joseph Welsh School

– Teresa Tataryn, Principal of Gateway Christian School, to be transferred to Westpark Middle School

– Kim Kirkwood, on a temporary Principal contact, will move to a continuous Principal contract at Mattie McCullough Elementary School

– Sandre Bevan, currently a Coordinator with Learning Services, to become Principal at Glendale Sciences and Technology School

– Geannette Lehman, Vice Principal at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, to become Principal at Gateway Christian School
