Rocky RCMP Report: Nov. 28- Dec. 5

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of November 28-December 5, 2019.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

November 28

11:59 A.M. – Silver 2012 POLARIS Razor (Alberta licence plate EMP86) stolen from a residence on Twp Rd 40-1 & Range Road 70-0, Clearwater County.

3:31 P.M. – Licence plate stolen off a 2007 Chrysler 300 in RMH.

3:59 P.M. – Assault reported at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. EMS and police attended. Victim taken to hospital. Arrest warrant issued for suspect who had fled the scene.

11:55 P.M. – Complaint of a person high on meth, damaging property at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested a female who was lodged in cells until sober.

November 29

3:32 P.M. – Rental property in Clearwater County broken into and all the copper pipes in the base board heating system was stolen.

9:16 P.M. — Report of a B&E to a residence while the complainant was away at work for a few weeks. A 2003 HONDA CR250 dirt bike was stolen along with a 55” TV and a laptop were stolen.

November 30

6:00 A.M. – Maroon 2006 FORD F350 stolen from a RMH Motel. Recovered in Drayton Valley.

1:14 P.M. – 2 buildings at a Battery site, belonging to an oilfield resource company, were broken into in Clearwater County. Computer hard drive stolen. Under investigation.

December 1

4:12 A.M. – While on patrol in RMH, police checked a vehicle which had broken down. The driver gave a false name and was subsequently arrested for obstruction, having outstanding arrest warrants, and breaching a previous release recognizance. The male was released by a Justice of the Peace on 4 separate Recognizances for future court dates.

9:37 A.M. – Report of 3 residences and 2 garages broken into on the Crimson Lake Road. Under investigation.

10:26 A.M. – 2015 white Lexus NX300 stolen from a residence on Crimson Lake Drive.

11:35 A.M. – Report of 8 solar panels and batteries, valued at $7,000 – $8,000, stolen from a lease site in Clearwater County.

3:34 P.M. – Stolen vehicle from Red Deer recovered on Hwy #11 after it was reported abandoned.

December 2

7:17 A.M. – Stolen grey 2015 Volkswagen Beetle stolen from a residence in Cougar Ridge Subdivision, Clearwater County.

8:13 A.M. – Call of several vehicles broken into at the Cougar Ridge Subdivision, Clearwater County. A number of personal items were stolen from the vehicles

12:58 P.M. – B&E to cell phone tower site on SecHwy #598, in the Leslieville area. Locks cut off gate and door to building smashed in. Equipment inside was heavily damaged.

2:14 P.M. – B&E to RMH business overnight. Culprit(s) cut through chain-link fence to gain access. 2 trucks were broken into and $7,000 worth of copper wire was stolen. Under investigation

6:06 P.M. – Black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado stolen in front of store on 50 Ave in Caroline. Tools and hunting gear had been in the truck.

10:53 P.M. – RMH RCMP received a call of shots fired with two people injured on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended along with EMS who transported the individuals, with minor injuries, to the Rocky hospital. The matter is under investigation while a warrant has been requested for the male suspect.

December 3

12:58 P.M. – A known male was observed by police driving a Chev Silverado on Hwy #11, towing a trailer without a licence plate. The passenger and driver switched spots. The original driver was arrested for driving while suspended and for failing to provide with a Recognizance.

December 4

6:58 P.M. – Report of a male, wearing a yellow jacket, riding a quad on Hwy #11A into town.

7:02 P.M. – Theft of a 2013 silver Skyline Koala Eco trailer from a property in Clearwater County

9:30 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated Hit & Run driver, backed into a car parked in a parking lot at a drinking establishment on 49 Street, RMH. The suspect vehicle is an older DODGE welding truck.
