Red Deer Catholic grads honoured for skills excellence

Ten of Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools’ graduates received a High School Apprenticeship Scholarship at the “Game Changers in the Modern Workforce” annual reception hosted by CAREERS: The Next Generation at the Edmonton Expo Centre this past weekend. In addition, one of the students, Tyler Mansell received a double scholarship, which included the Bright Future award.

The following students graduated in June 2019 and have since been participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)/Career and Technology Studies (CTS):

Automotive Service Technician

• Sawyer Pelz graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

• Jackson Roberts graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

• Tyler Simpson graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

• Tyler Mansell graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

Electrician

• Louis Vincent graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

• Andrew Heidebrecht graduate of St. Joseph High School

Hairstylist

• Michaela Leicht graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

Heavy Equipment Technician

• Johnathan Hicks graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic

• Ryker Hirney graduate of École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

• Joshua McCook graduate of St. Joseph High School

“We would like to congratulate these graduates for their dedication as they continue with their internships and apprenticeships after high school. It is important to recognize these individuals for their hard work and success,” said Off-Campus Program Lead Teacher, Tracey Millar at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.
