Small Business Week supports food bank

Nov 7, 2019 | 10:31 AM

A fall food drive held during Small Business Week raised $120 and 110 lbs of food for Central Alberta.

A series of BBQ events were hosted by The City of Red Deer in industrial locations across our city, including Queens Business Park, Burnt Lake Industrial, Riverside Light Industrial Area, and Edgar Industrial Park.

Attended by local businesses, the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce, Alberta Economic Development and Trade, and other local business service providers, the BBQs provided a way for businesses to connect with services they may need.

“We have a lot of strong businesses in our industrial parks, that were more than willing to attend and donate to our local food bank,” says Peter McGee, Land and Economic Development Officer. “The BBQs were a great way to mark small business week, help businesses connect with each other, and support one of our community organizations.”
