Building permit values dropped in all four categories in September, despite an increase in total number of permits issued, according to The City of Red Deer.
Last month, 94 permits were issued with a combined value of just over $11.3 million, compared to 92 permits issued in September 2018 that were valued at $33.7 million.
Year-to-date totals are nearly $70 million less than during the first nine months of 2019, city officials say.
Notable permits for September include construction of shop and office space at 136 Queensland Cr. valued at $6.1 million and $700,000 worth of interior improvements at Best Buy.
