Tests for blue-green algae at Three Mile Bend come back negative

Aug 29, 2019 | 11:47 AM

Tests for blue-green algae in Red Deer’s Three Mile Bend dog park have come back negative.

On August 16, The City sent water samples for testing to determine if a cyanobacteria outbreak was occurring at Three Mile Bend.

Low seasonal temperatures have kept outbreaks at bay, The City notes.

If conditions change and there ever is a concern for blue-green algae in any of Red Deer’s waterbodies, The City will post signage and an advisory will be posted at RedDeer.ca/bga.
