City of Lacombe advises of streetlight replacement

Apr 11, 2019 | 11:05 AM

There could be traffic delays in Lacombe next week as The City installs a new streetlight.

Downtown residents and businesses in particular are advised that Fortis Alberta will be installing a replacement streetlight in front of Ugly’s Pub & Grill during the week of April 15-19.

Work is expected to take two days.

This streetlight will replace the one removed from the northwest corner of 50 Street and 50 Avenue during the Main Street Project in 2017.

‘“Fortis designed the lights on the northeast corner to provide adequate lighting to the intersection, so a light in the original location is unnecessary,” said Engineer Manager Amber Mitchell. “By relocating the light on the west side to the north, Fortis will be able to improve the lighting coverage on 50 Street.”

Parking will be restricted as shown in the map above, but the road will remain open. Sections of the sidewalk will also be restricted.
