Red Deer Regional Health Foundation awards $81,500 in scholarships

May 9, 2024 | 10:59 AM

The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation says it is providing educational scholarships totaling $81,500 in 2024, thanks to the contributions of generous donors.

The scholarship recipients are students enrolled in various health care programs, including cardiology, respiratory health medicine, hospice palliative care, nursing, and pediatrics.

Officials say these scholarships will help ensure that excellent health care professionals are available to provide for the future needs of central Albertans.

“The foundation is grateful for the donors committed to enhancing care for central Albertans and to those who choose to study in the health care field,” says Manon Therriault, CEO.

“This funding for healthcare students would not be possible without the community-minded donors who founded these scholarships. Their generosity ensures that we can assist those starting or continuing their careers in health care, and that we can attract and retain exceptional health care professionals.”

Scholarships were awarded to Alexandra Mitra, Avery Olafson, Britnee Baker, Britny Martens, Christina McMillin, Devin Woodland, Hannah Corrigan, Jennifer Huseby, Jessica Muchiri, Jessica Nelson, Julianna Panteluk, Katie Kralka, Kelsey Johnson, Ksenia Strickland, Kya Knight, Lexie Saforo, Nikki Hort, Sage Bugutsky, Samantha Hombert, Thalia Neufeld, Tyler Unreiner, Victoria Johns, and Zoe Brabbins.
