Lockdown ended at Drumheller Institution

The lockdown put in place at the medium security unit at Drumheller Institution on Mar. 24 has now ended and an exceptional search completed as well.

Officials with Correctional Service Canada (CSC) say they are continuing their efforts in strengthening measures to prevent the entry of contraband into their institutions in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.

CSC is also said to work in partnership with police to take action against those who attempt to have contraband brought into correctional institutions.

Visits to the institution have resumed.
