Weekly Crime Update

March 21

9:36 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported a suspicious white truck appearing to be casing properties. The truck was located and stopped, not suspicious, out looking for dogs that were missing.

9:41 am – Easyford area – Complainant reporting a lease site entered, battery and some wire stolen. Under investigation.

9:54 am – Drayton Valley, Meraw Estates area – report of a suspicious male looking in vehicles, wandering on properties. Member attended and patrolled the area, suspect not located.

11:12 am – Drayton Valley – 46 St/47 Ave – Complainant reported seeing what may be a handgun on the side of the road. Members attended and located a broken airsoft pistol which was subsequently destroyed.

11:55 am – Easyford area – Complainant reports culprits stole specialized equipment from a lease site.

12:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Parking lot behind 51 St – Member attending court observed a suspicious parked truck. Truck determined to have been stolen in Saskatchewan recently. Recovered, under investigation.

1:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reported being assaulted by her son whom she had kicked out the day prior.

1:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – While in the area on unrelated file, members located a tailgate stolen in January off a 2017 Ram pickup. The tailgate was seized and returned to the owner. No charges pending as police unable to determine who may have been responsible.

3:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reported a male and female possibly trying to gain entry to a neighbours house, unsure if suspects still at location. Members attended, no suspects located and no signs of entry being gained. Under investigation.

4:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 St/48A Avenue – Complainant reported that a truck had collided with the side of a mobile home. Members attended and determined the male driver had a medical issue. Driver was transported to hospital.

March 22

12:06 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reports ex sending her a text message. Complainant on conditions not to contact the ex. Members investigated, neither party cooperative with police. The ex made a counter-allegation that the complainant possibly stole money from her but declined to provide a statement or any evidence. Both parties well known to police.

5:42 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reported someone tried to steal his truck from hotel parking lot overnight. Ignition smashed, items stolen from the truck.

9:16 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting a hit and run to their 2017 white Ford Focus while parked in the hospital parking lot. Damage to drivers side fender.

10:08 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting purchasing an IPhone 7, via and ad on Facebook. An E-“Transfer for a total of $200 was sent, however phone not received.

10:18 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a missing black and white English bulldog, 2 ½ years old. Dog went missing on March 20, name is Sarg.

3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a white and black pick up truck almost hit four different vehicles driving through the ditch. Driver of vehicle is well known to police. Emergency equipment was engaged, vehicle took off and did not stop for police. Charges pending.

4:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant reporting theft from home. People have been coming and going from their place without paying rent. A lot of their personal items such as power tools, clothes, wallet and ID have gone missing.

11:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant requesting members conduct a well being check on three children that have been left alone at home. Ages 16, 15, 13 and 12. Members attended, all ok.

March 23

12:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver at the Petro Canada. Complainant observed open liquor in vehicle. Two male and two female occupants. Members attended, vehicle not located, members contacted the registered owner who advised they were the designated driver and was not aware there was open liquor in the vehicle.

4:36 pm – Drayton Valley – Dog Park – Complainant called to report that they had received a call from a phone advising that they had their dog and would return same to owner at the dog park in exchange for $100 gift card. Complainant bought gift card, however caller did not show with the dog.

7:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Fountain Tire – Complainant reporting a male, approximately 30 years old wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and ripped jeans picked up a bow and arrow from the bushes behind Canadian Tire and was now walking towards Lucan Holdings. Turned out to be a set of bike forks and a bar.

11:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Complainant reporting a white GMC truck has been circling then parked in front of house for the past 15 minutes. Members attended and located vehicle. Driver was visiting with friend.

March 24

12:26 am – Drayton Valley – Westwood Inn – Complainant reporting three people were in the bar and asked to leave as they were causing issues. They are now in a grey truck in the parking lot honking the horn. Members attended, vehicle was gone.

2:38 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Street – Member on patrol stopped vehicle for a traffic offense. Vehicle towed for no insurance. Numerous prescription pills were located in vehicle.

10:37 am – Drayton Valley – Continuum Health Care Holdings – Report of an abandoned 911 call. Members attended along with EMS who transported individual to hospital.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious item in the parking lot of the IGA. Shell casings had been seen. These were seized by members. No sign of any altercation.

4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant requesting members attended to keep the peace with tenant who is being evicted. Members attended as requested and advised landlord that they were there to keep the peace but they would require a police enforceable eviction notice which they did not have, therefore members would not assist with eviction. Advised civil matter and to contact Landlord Tennant board.

9:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting threats being received via facebook. Member spoke with both parties. Complaint stemmed from a poor parking job at Wal Mart. Both agreed to block each other.

11:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Ramada Inn – Complainant reporting a suspicious dark green Chev pickup with topper was throwing things into a dumpster. Members attended, vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

March 25

8:07 am – Drayton Valley – Fountain Tire – Complainant reporting the lock to the gate at Fountain Tire was cut sometime over the weekend. One of the service trucks has been stolen and two other trucks were broken into. Stolen was a 2014 blue GMC Sierra with Fountain Tire logos.

9:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they found a backpack with tools etc at a job site. Members attended and seized back pack.

1:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reported that they parked their 2008 silver Dodge Ram 3500 on Friday. Truck had a sled deck on the back and a Polaris Ranger RZR ATV, grey in colour on it. Vehicle was parked at the rear of the Secure Energy parking lot. When they returned on Monday both the vehicle and ATV were gone.

1:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting one of the properties they monitor has been broken into and the interior damaged. Members attended, matter is still under investigation.

1:59 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate .

2:07 pm – Drayton Valley, 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting the old RCMP detachment has been entered. Doesn’t appear anything missing or damage. Appears that entry made by jimmying the garage door.

3:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reports hearing an audible alarm from the next door residence. Member attended, no one there. Determined to be a low battery on the smoke detector.

3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report an incident of uttering threats. Member spoke with all parties involved and it was determined that no contact between the two would be the best.

4:21 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting some damage to a fence and posts. Unsure if outbuildings have been accessed.

5:00 pm – Drayton Valley – South Petro Can – Complainant reporting a known male came into the store and stole a pair of sunglasses.

7:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Kal Tire parking lot – Complainant reports that they observed a suspicious vehicle, red Dodge with blue bumper, driving very slowly past Kal Tire. Thought it suspicious as Fountain Tire had been broken into over the weekend. Member patrolled the area, however vehicle not located.

7:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male stole a licence plate off their grey truck and put it onto a van. Members located the van pulling into the 7-11 parking lot. Male Driver charged with theft under, driving without a licence, no registration and no insurance.

8:49 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 and 624 – Complainant reporting a blue F150 is driving southbound in the north bound lane. Vehicle was observed going into the ditch. Member attended, 24 hour suspension issued.

March 26

1:43 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed male wanted on outstanding warrant. Male arrested and search incidental to arrest located Methamphetamine and two pills of unknown origin. Male arrested for possession and warrants and held for bail hearing.

1:36 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting their ex has messaged them to say there is another ex at the motel looking for them. Member attended and spoke with both parties, was a misunderstanding.

2:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a abandoned brown van with no plates and a flat front tire is parked in front of their residence.

5:27 pm – Brazeau County, Twp Rd 491 – Complainant reporting an assault. Members attended located both parties along with a stolen truck recently stolen from Fountain Tire. Lisa Horvath-Souch, 30, and 40- year-old Nolin Seely arrested and charged for possession of stolen property. Both held for bail Hearing.

8:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a male running into traffic and waving over vehicles. Member attended and spoke with individual who had run out of gas. Vehicle had no insurance or registration and driver was wanted on outstanding warrants. Vehicle towed, driver arrested.

March 27

10:58 AM – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious female walking down the back alley checking doors. Female described as wearing a headband and carrying bags. Members conducted patrols in the area with negative results.

11:50 am – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting assault and ongoing harassment for the past month. Matter still under investigation.

3:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting they found drugs at the back door of the building. Members attended and a small amount of meth and a joint of marijuana was seized.

3:53 pm – Cynthia – Report of theft of approximately 30 feet of copper wire and propane hose stolen from lease site.

4:14 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reports at least three individuals used a truck to push the gate of a small fenced area on a lease site. All buildings entered, nothing appears stolen, approx. $500 damage to fence.

4:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting approximately four youths had been hanging around the store the past few days smoking by the door. They have been asked to leave several times. Members attended and removed youth.

5:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Serene Apartments – Complainant reporting evicted tenant is trying to get into apartment. Member attended, tenant was simply trying to get someone to watch their stuff as it had been placed outside, while they went for a truck.

9:43 pm – Greenwood Estates – Complainant reporting hearing a loud bang like a shotgun blast. Member was in the area, patrolled. No other noises heard.

10:42 pm – Birchwood – Members received a 911 call, person was not identified. Members were able to locate the residence. Mother and 13- year-old son having an argument. Son called 911 as they were angry. False alarm.

March 28

12:50 am – Drayton Valley – Brick parking lot – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in a white Dodge Ram 3500. Member attended, vehicle not running. Driver was out of the vehicle and advised they were calling a cab but locked their keys inside. Member provided a courtesy ride to hotel.
