RCMP search Olymel area for suspect armed with sawed-off shotgun

RED DEER- RCMP are investigating after a man was allegedly spotted in the Olymel compound around 7:30 a.m. today armed with a sawed-off shotgun.

Mounties blocked off a number of roads in the area as they searched for the suspect.

An RCMP dog team was also called in to help and a suspect vehicle was located in the Olymel compound.

Police say there were also a number of business break and enters in the general area overnight, but it is not known yet if they are related to the firearms incident.
