Trial underway for man accused in 2016 stabbing death in West Park
A trial is underway in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench for a man charged in the death of a woman in West Park a year and a half ago.
Jordan Koizumi, 27, is charged with second-degree murder in the October 2016 death Tina Pfeiffer, 50.
The agreed statement of facts presented Monday detailed how the two lived in the same residence on West Park Crescent. Koizumi was subletting a room of the home which Pfeiffer was renting. They had lived in the same dwelling for four months before Pfeiffer told Koizumi he had five days to get out and then locked the doors on him. It was later agreed that she would unlock the doors so he could access his belongings.
Around 4 a.m. on October 27, 2016, Red Deer RCMP responded to the home where they found Pfeiffer dead in a bedroom. RCMP later found a serrated knife and a chef’s knife inside the house.
