One man dead following multi-vehicle crash north of Cochrane Friday night

A 30-year-old man is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Highways 22 north of Cochrane Friday night.

Didsbury RCMP say it happened around 6:00 p.m. when they initially responded to reports of a truck swerving and driving erratically while northbound on Highway 22.

While attending the scene, an additional call came in that a truck matching the description from the previous complaint was involved in a collision with several other vehicles.

Mounties say the preliminary investigation shows the truck was northbound on Highway 22 when it tried to pass another vehicle and struck a southbound RV. A second collision then occurred with a northbound RV and a southbound semi-tractor.
