City of Lacombe 2017 tax notices mailed out

May 30, 2017 | 6:32 AM

LACOMBE- The 2017 municipal property tax notices for Lacombe residents were mailed out on May 26.

Those who have not received their 2017 Tax Notice by Friday, June 2, are asked to contact the City of Lacombe Tax and Assessment Department at 403-782-1257.

Property owners are advised that taxes are due and payable without penalty if payment is received at City Hall on or before June 30.

Property tax payments can be made at the property owner’s financial institution or through online banking, as well as in-person at City Hall, or by mail.

Payments sent by mail must be postmarked by Canada Post by June 30, in order to avoid late penalties.

Property owners who miss the tax payment deadline will have a nine per cent penalty applied on July 1, on the outstanding taxes owing.

For example, if $3000 is left unpaid after the due date, a penalty of nine per cent, or $270, will be applied to the account.
