Olds man arrested on 63 charges spanning four jurisdictions

A man from Olds is behind bars after the RCMP’s Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team arrested a suspect on Tuesday wanted on 63 charges spanning four jurisdictions.

Morgan Stephen Winter, 44, was apprehended by Olds RCMP with the assistance of SACRT after being wanted in connection with offences in Olds, Innisfail, Didsbury and Calgary.

Some of Winter’s outstanding warrants ranged from Theft of Vehicle, to Possession of Identity Documents, Fraud over $5,000, Failing to Appear and Obstructing Police.

He is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court via CCTV on Friday, February 16.

SACRT is a newly formed team of RCMP officers whose mandate is to target known offenders and reduce crime in Southern Alberta. It is also described as an intelligence lead unit that aims to identify criminals who have the biggest impact on their communities and work towards the disruption of their ongoing criminal activity.
