Save-On-Foods shares it forward for local food banks
The Red Deer Food Bank can now stock its shelves thanks to a donation from the two Red Deer Save-On-Foods locations.
From June 15-17, Save-On stores across western Canada committed to “Sharing it Forward,” which meant donating 25 per cent of all sales of Western Family products to local food banks.
On Friday, store staff presented a cheque to the Red Deer Food Bank for $3100.
“We always like to give back and the food bank is a tremendous ambassador for folks who are having a hard time,” says Red Deer North Store Manager Ernie Cordonier. “This is an opportunity as a food store to continue to give back to the community where we earn our living.”
