Red Deer building permit values rise in April

Building permit values went up in several areas last month, bolstered by one permit valued at just over $20 million.

That was for the construction of a four-storey, 166-unit apartment complex at 70 Thomlison Avenue.

Others major permits included:

  • Building permit for major interior and exterior renovations at 6375 50 Avenue, valued at $9.8 million
  • Building permit for interior renovations at 1-4928 53 Avenue, valued at $2.5 million
  • Building permit for construction of new detached single-family dwelling with two storeys and triple car garage at 65 Larratt Close, valued at $305,828
  • Building permit for construction of new single family dwelling with attached garage at 32 Emmett Crescent, valued at $200,690

According to The City, building permit values increased in April, with 103 approved permits valued at $35 million, compared with 77 permits issued in April 2023 worth $5.2 million.

Year-to-date values have also increased in 2024, with current values at $51 million, compared with $27 million at this time last year.
