Time for Pratt to shine for Rebels

Sep 1, 2017 | 7:24 AM

Austin Pratt knows this is a big year.

After struggling to find his groove through much of his sophomore season, the Lakeville, Minnesota native was passed over at the NHL Draft in June.

His path to professional hockey is far from over, of course. But Pratt knows he needs to turn in a much improved season in 2017-18 to help make it happen.

The Rebels have always had high hopes for Pratt, so much so that Brent Sutter hosted a press conference when he first signed with the team.

With a lot of turnover in the forward ranks, Pratt will be given every opportunity to rise to the occasion and become an on-ice leader for the Rebels.

In 126 regular season games, Pratt has collected 24 goals and 46 points. He is pointless in 15 career playoff games.

The 18-year-old is listed at 6’2″ and 226 lbs.

He was selected by the Rebels in round four (75th overall) in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
