National Horse Day event in Three Hills June 2

The Golden Valley Equestrian Center in Three Hills, Alberta is among hundreds of stables across Canada marking the 10th annual National Horse Day today.

Officials at Golden Valley say they are hosting an open house at the facility from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with people invited to come by and meet the horses.

National Horse Day is celebrated on June 2 in Canada with the aim of allowing people of all ages and experience levels to honour, discover and explore the equestrian world.

Those who attend a National Horse Day event are encouraged to take plenty of photos and enter the Horse Day Photo Contest for the chance to win great prizes.

To enter, upload your Horse Day photos to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram by the end of June 2 using the hashtag #HorseDay2018.

In addition, kids between the ages of 3-16 are encouraged to enter the Horse Day 2018 National Drawing Contest for the chance to win prizes. Entries must be submitted by June 9.
