Art gallery showcases student creativity at St. Joseph High School

May 24, 2018 | 7:29 AM

St. Joseph High School is hosting their first art show at The Hub on Ross throughout the month of May.

This show features beautiful paintings and unique photography works, which are available for guests interested in supporting students’ creative efforts.

After the show ends, some select pieces will be at the school’s upcoming Cultural Street Fair on May 30.

Art shows allow student pieces of work to be shown not only within the classroom, but also to a larger audience in the local community. Supporting artistic endeavours and talents is important for students growing in their artistic abilities and those looking for a career in the visual arts field.

“All artists love to hear and see responses to their creations. Some students have a lot of confidence, because they have been making art for many years and have experience, whereas other students are newer to exploring their artistic identity and they benefit from lots of positive feedback and encouragement from their family, friends and teachers. In other words, a public audience is always great and we are so happy to have the opportunity to showcase our efforts, outside of our school and in our community,” said Fine Arts Teacher, Jonas Marchinko from St. Joseph High School.

The Hub on Ross is located at 4936 50 Street.
