Evening of Decadent Dessert happening Friday in support of Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre

May 7, 2018 | 10:30 AM

Evening of Decadent Dessert is Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre’s signature event! This year, the event is celebrating 24 years of ‘sweet’ success in central Alberta. With help from the community, the goal of raising $130,000 is within reach.

Evening of Decadent Dessert will be held on Friday, May 11, at the Parkland Pavilion, Westerner Park, located at 4847 19 Street, Red Deer.

Executive Director, Michelle Sluchinski says, “This year is shaping up to be exciting, and we look forward to seeing you at the event. We invite you to get involved by purchasing your tickets early, donating silent auction items, live auction items, or desserts, as well as supporting Aspire through those larger scale sponsorships – because after all, together we are better.”

Sluchinski also states, “The funds raised from Evening of Decadent Dessert are essential to support our programs and specialized equipment purchases, as well as fee assistance for families who are struggling to afford their Aspire fees.”

Over 500 guests attend Evening of Decadent Dessert each year. At the event they enjoy a champagne reception, various raffles, entertainment, silent auction, dinner buffet, our famous decadent dessert buffet, and the highlight of the night – live auctions featuring one-of-a-kind cakes paired with unique experiences.

Guests become part of our Aspire family at this event; it really demonstrates who we are, and what Aspire does for families of children with special needs. Hearing stories from past parents gives an insight into this special place,” says Fund Development Coordinator, Melissa Vine.

Vine also comments that, “It takes over 70 volunteers and countless sponsors and donors to help us bring this event to life. From cutting our one-of-a-kind cakes, to selling 50/50 tickets, there is a job for everyone.”

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available now for $100 per person or $750 for a table of eight. Charitable tax receipts will be issued for a portion of the ticket price. Don’t miss your opportunity to get in on the Early Bird promotion!
