Plan your route: upcoming road closures near north end roundabout

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Upcoming temporary road and lane closures will impact traffic over the
next few weeks due to construction.

The 67 Street / Johnstone Drive roundabout is nearing completion, and temporary lane and
road closures are required to complete paving on surrounding roadways:

 Johnstone Drive will close from 67 Street to Edgar Industrial Drive on Saturday, August
12.
 Orr Drive will close from 66 Street to 67 Street on Sunday, August 13.

Detour maps for the Johnstone Drive and Orr Drive closures are available online at
redder.ca/construction. The schedule is dependent on weather conditions. In case of inclement
weather, road closures will be rescheduled to the following weekend.

A new construction project at the 19 Street and Taylor Drive intersection is scheduled to start
Monday, August 14 and will include concrete work, new traffic lights, road widening and
additional turn lanes. The upgrades to this intersection are in preparation for the Southpointe
Junction development and as part of the future configuration for the Gaetz Avenue / Queen
Elizabeth 2 Highway interchange. Temporary lane closures will be required but traffic flow will
be maintained in all directions.
