Registration open for Green Deer spring cleanup campaign

Red Deer’s snow has melted, and that means the litter that accumulated over the winter has been revealed.

Officials with the City say all Red Deerians are encouraged to do their part to keep the city clean and green by joining the Green Deer Spring Cleanup Campaign.

They add, the more people who participate, the more litter that can be cleaned up throughout Red Deer.

To participate in the Green Deer Spring Cleanup Campaign:

1. Register online https://forms.gle/dzhaKrBUfn8KdUwu9
2. Pick up free cleanup supplies at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, Red Deer Recreation Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, or Collicutt Centre.
3. Review safety information.
4. Go for a walk to pick up litter whenever and wherever you want.
5. For a few lucky winners: Pick up your prize from the Kerry Wood Nature Centre!
   • All registrants are automatically entered to win prizes.
   • Grand prize: private room rental donated by Troubled Monk.
   • Runner-up prizes: gift cards donated by Canadian Tire and Save-On-Foods.
   • Winners will be notified in early June.
