Catherine Longchamps of the Red Deer College Queens hockey team has earned herself two Alberta Colleges Athletic Conferences year-end awards.

Longchamps was recognized on Friday as the Top Scholastic Achiever, and was named to the ACAC Women's Hockey Second All-Conference team.

The second-year defender excelled in her schooling this year, obtaining a 3.85 GPA in the Bachelor of Education Secondary program at RDC.

She also helped lead the Queens to a 10-9-5-0 record, good enough for third in the league. She contributed nine points in 24 regular season games.

A native of Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Longchamps served as an alternate captain this season.

She and all other All-Conference selections will be celebrated prior to the upcoming game three of the ACAC Women's Hockey Final between NAIT and Grant MacEwan on March 14.
