Notify Red Deer system test this Thursday

Residents can expect to receive text, email and phone call alerts on Thursday as The City runs a test of their emergency notification system, Notify Red Deer.
The Notify Red Deer test is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 13 and will send alerts to all registered users, as well as everyone listed in the phone book.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for Notify Red Deer or to log in and update their account to ensure they can be reached in an emergency. Residents can choose how they want to be notified – by text, email, or phone call – but are encouraged to select text or email first, as electronic methods reach residents faster than phone calls.
Emergency alerts are sent to everyone who signs up, but residents can also choose to receive Snow Zone Alerts and Street Sweeping Alerts; both send reminders before parking restrictions take effect during plowing and street sweeping operations so that residents can move their vehicle and avoid a parking ticket.
