Two people were sent to hospital after a two-vehicle crash Friday night on Hwy 2A near Ponoka.

RCMP indicate that the collision occurred around 10-11 p.m. about five kilometres south of town.

The driver of one vehicle was transported to hospital with injuries of an unknown extent. The driver of the other vehicle went to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, RCMP say.

Mounties have not said what may have caused the crash, though there was heavy fog which blanketed many parts of central Alberta last Friday night.

The roadway was closed both north and southbound, but re-opened after about one or two hours.
