Catholic school board to hold by-election to replace Adriana LaGrange

Oct 31, 2018 | 12:46 PM

Adriana LaGrange is resigning from the Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) Board of Trustees.

LaGrange won the United Conservative Party nomination for Red Deer – North over the weekend and will be running in next year’s provincial election.

She has served as RDCRS Trustee for 11 years and has held a number of positions including the Chair and Vice-Chair.

“Maintaining RDCRS’ commitment to excellence in education, while allowing each child to reach their full God-given potential, was extremely important to me during my journey as a trustee and I always strove to put the welfare of our students first in the decisions I made,“  said LaGrange.

“We are grateful for Adriana’s significant contributions over the past 11 years as a Trustee and former Board Chair,” says current RDCRS Board Chair Anne Marie Watson. “Her experiences in our growing school division will serve her well as a candidate in the next provincial election. We will work with her over the coming weeks to transition her workload and responsibilities to other trustees.”

LaGrange will be resigning from RDCRS before the end of 2018. The Board says intends to fill the vacancy through a by-election, the details for which have yet to be announced.
