Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: October 11 – 18

October 11

9:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Westwood Inn – Theft of Motor Vehicle – Report received of theft of  2018 purple jeep.  Vehicle is a rental car.  Shortly after member was advised by complainant that the vehicle had been returned. 

12:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – Theft of Truck – Complainant states they was hunting off the Elk River Road.  They parked the vehicle and returned to find it missing.  They walked a short distance and located the vehicle with a flat tire.  The ATV which was in the back of the truck had been stolen.   Still outstanding is a 2013 Polaris. 

12:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Westwood Inn – Assault with a weapon – Report of bear mace being discharged in room.  This is related to the file of the jeep being stolen.  Members attended, bear mace seized.  Accidental discharge. 

1:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Walmart – Shoplifting – Report of a male known to police entered the store and stole a pair of workboots and DVD from the store.  

2:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Life Church – Threats – Report of receiving threats as was walking by the Life church.  Members spoke with complainant and suspect.  No threats actually said.

October 12

12:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Fas Gas – Impaired Driver – Report of a male in a black ford stumbling and urinating outside store.  Members attended and located vehicle and driver.  Driver was arrested for Impaired Care and Control. 

12:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 40 Street – Assault – Report of domestic assault.  Male and female were fighting, both reported being injured.  Members attended location, one party had left the scene.  Investigation is ongoing.

2:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 47 Avenue – Fire prevention Act – Report of a fire between the Anglican Church and Shangrila Lodge.  Members and police attended and put out fire. 

5:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley, HW Pickup School – Possession of drugs – Request for assistance by Drayton Valley CPO.  Member attended and seized drug paraphernalia and small quantity of drugs.

8:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Theft of truck – Report of theft of black Ford F250 diesel sometime over night.  2 tidy tanks in the back. 

October 13

7:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Hwy 22 and 50 Street – Wellbeing check – Report of a person walking North bound, dark clothing, staggering, hitchhiking.  Members patrolled area, person not located. 

9:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 55A Avenue  – Suspicious vehicle – Report of a suspicious black older model bmw with two males parked by the post office boxes in the area. Members patrolled the area with negative results. 

October 14

1:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 36 Street – Noise Complaint – Report of a loud house party.  Members attended and persons advised they would keep the noise down.

3:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Coach Motel – Impaired Driver – Report of a blue ford truck with male driver driving over lawns.  Members attended and located vehicle and male.  Male arrested for impaired driving.

8:16 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Da.mage to vehicle – Report of da.mage to grey dodge caravan overnight.  Drivers window has been broken and suitcase stolen

October 15

12:32 a.m – Drayton Valley, 47 Avenue – Fire Prevention act – Report of male and female in bushes fighting and a fire.  Members attended and located the fire in the bushes, but not the persons.  Fire put out by members.

1:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Suspicious vehicle – Report of a suspicious quad pulled out onto the hwy with no lights.  Members attended and located vehicle which was towed. 

8:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Big West Dodge – Attempted Theft from vehicle – Report of a attempted break in to a vehicle on their lot. 

9:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 50 Avenue – Theft of fuel – Report received that someone punched the fuel tank of a silver Dodge Ra.m and stole fuel. 

10:33 a.m. – Brazeau County – Theft – Report of theft of propane from lease site.  Approximately 1000 litres of propane stolen.  Possible suspects. 

11:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 45 Avenue – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter to a GMC Sierra sometime overnight.

1:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Derrick Lounge – Report of a wallet stolen Friday evening at Derrick Lounge.  Wallet is black with brown and pinkish stripes. 

2:08 p.m. – Riverview Cemetery – Vandalism – Report that someone pushed over a monument at the cemetery. 

3:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Lyda Logging, 62 Street – Hit and Run – Report that someone hit their 2018 grey Chev truck sometime between noon and 1 p.m..  Da.mage to back passenger door and box.

10:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Country Style Trailer Court – Suspicious vehicle  – Report of an older Chevy Truck dirty just pulled up.  May be related to all the stolen vehicles in the area.  Members attended, vehicle was gone.

October 16

12:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Fas Gas – Theft – Report of female stealing crates from 7-11, just seen running into Fas Gas.  Members attended and arrested female for theft. 

8:10 a.m. – Brazeau County – Theft of other vehicles – Report of a loader and track hoe being stolen from the yard.  Both were located later on, the loader being stuck in the mud.  Possible suspect

8:29 a.m. – Brazeau County, DV Golf course – Theft of fuel – Report of theft of fuel sometime over night.  Suspects took apart the anti theft device and stole fuel from a bulk container.

5:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Found Items – found Back Pack brought to the detachment.  Containing various items and identification.

5:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Wal Mart – Theft of truck – Report of theft of 2000 Dodge Ra.m truck from parking lot.  Vehicle later recovered in Evansburg. 

5:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 40 Street – Mischief – Report that a male is trying to jump off the building across from the radio station on a bicycle.  Members attended and spoke with male.  Male doing tricks.  Advised to move on.

October 17

1:23 p.m. – Lodgepole – Break and Enter to Cottage – Report of a break and enter to seasonal home sometime in late September or early October.  Entry gained through basement door.  Small a.mount of tools stolen

3:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 46 Avenue – Mischief – Report that garbage has been gone through and faded blue pool taken. 

3:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Mischief – Report of a male burning plastic in a fire pit.  Members attended, only wood burning in fire pit, no sign of any plastic.

4:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Fraud – Complainant advised they received an email from a Rick MOORE with TA.MERTON FINANCIAL saying their loan application had been reviewed and approved for $20,000, however in order to secure the loan they were required to etransfer $1490.  Complainant did so, did not receive the money, was asked to send another $1000, which they did , has not received loan money.

6:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 52 Street – Loud muffler – Report of a male on a motor bike with a loud muffler riding up and down near center court in the middle of the night.
