Town and County launch joint website

Sep 26, 2018 | 9:05 AM

The Economic Development departments for the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County have launched a joint website.

The ‘Business Development Tool Kilt’ is meant to help existing and potential businesses access information about the local economy, demographics and business environment.

“This tool will provide a lot of information quickly to businesses looking at building or expanding,” says Jeff Hartling, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Rocky Mountain House. “It can help them identify opportunities that they might want to invest in.”

The website aims to complement the two existing economic development plans on each municipalities websites.

The site has links to various subjects including the local business climate, industry trends, land use and rezoning, labour force and education, environmental conditions and community facilities.

“As companies make plans they need to know what the business environment is like,” says Jerry Pratt, Economic Development Officer for Clearwater County. “The Business Development Tool Kit brings a lot of that data into one place for those businesses.”

The site was created by Canadian technology firm LocalIntel and developed through a cost-sharing program with the Central Alberta Economic Partnership.

A link can be found on each municipality’s website under the Economic Development section or at https://strongertogether.ecdev.org/
