RDC soccer teams sweep Rattlers and Kodiaks

This past weekend, both Red Deer College soccer squads defeated the Medicine Hat College Rattlers and Lethbridge College Kodiaks in a pair of home games while the South Regional at Mill Woods Golf Course was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Here is a summary of what happened this past week in RDC Athletics.

Queens Soccer | Saturday, September 22 | RDC

In Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Soccer South Division action, the RDC Queens (3 – 1 – 0) defeated the Medicine Hat College Rattlers (0 – 4 – 1) 5 – 0. For the Queens, Alisha Coules scored two goals, and Emilee Kronbauer, Haley Nassichuk-Dean, and Emily Richard added singles in the home win.

At the RDC Main Field, the Red Deer College Queens (4 – 1 – 0) earned a 1 – 0 victory over the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (2 – 2 – 1). The lone goal was directed in by a Kodiaks defender so no member of the Queens was credited with the goal. The Red Deer College Queens sit in second spot in the ACAC Women’s Soccer South Division with 12 points. SAIT (5 – 0 – 0) leads the south with 15 points.

Kings Soccer | Saturday, September 22 | RDC

The RDC Kings (2 – 1 – 1) picked up a 5 – 2 win over the Medicine Hat College Rattlers (2 – 2 – 1). Andre Araujo Queiroz, William Arcinegas Salazar and Pedro Humberto Mourao Neto scored one goal each, and Matheus Alves added a pair for the Kings. 

Kings Soccer | Sunday, September 23 | RDC

The RDC Kings (3 – 1 – 1) downed the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (2 – 2 – 1) by a 3 – 2 score. Theoren Gill, Gabriel Fleury de Queiroz and Colin Purnell scored for the RDC Kings. With the victory, the Kings move into a tie for second place in the south with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers. Both teams have 10 points. The SAIT Trojans (5 – 0 – 0) are first with 15 points.
