Highway 53 rollover claims life of Rimbey teen

An 18-year-old man has died following a single vehicle rollover west of Rimbey early Wednesday morning.

RCMP were dispatched shortly after 5:00 a.m. to the crash which occurred on Highway 53 near Range Road 40, about 13kms west of Rimbey.

Mounties confirm the 18-year-old driver was from Rimbey and the sole occupant of the vehicle which according to their investigation left the roadway and rolled.

Police say the man’s name will not be released and no further updates will be provided.

Emergency crews have since cleared the scene with traffic returning to normal.
