Hollingsworth eliminated from The Amazing Race

Mellisa Hollingsworth’s time on The Amazing Race Canada: Heroes Edition has come to an end.

Hollingsworth and her teammate Nancy Csabay became the sixth team eliminated from the reality show competition after coming up short in a contest in Mexico City.

“I think we did awesome, and it was so much fun,” said Csabay to show host Jon Montgomery. “The key to success was just letting it all hang out. Run without reserve is what I always say. Sure we had some struggles along the way, but our relationship has evolved. It’s been a pleasure.”

The pair met at the Calgary Stampede when Csabay was competing in barrel racing and Hollingsworth was a commentator.

“Nancy and I came into this with no pre-existing relationship,” added Mellisa. “I have a new family member. I can’t even say just a friend; she is somebody who is so special to me.”

Csabay is a two-time national barrel racing champion who battled cancer four years ago and inspired everyone around her.

Hollingsworth, a native of Eckville, is a three-time Olympian who won the bronze medal in the women’s skeleton event at the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games. She is still connected with the Canadian Olympic Committee to help train the next generation of Olympians.
