The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) has received three applications from companies interested in opening up a pot shop in Rocky Mountain House since it started accepting applicants on March 6.

AGLC spokesperson Heather Holmen says the applicants have gone through background, criminal and financial checks.

The most recent applicant to open a store in Rocky Mountain House is Green Owl Cannabis, who filed on August 16. The corporation’s application says it aims to open a store called Green House Cannabis at 5207 45 street.

The location would abide by a bylaw imposed by Rocky Town Council, including a minimum setback of 100 metres from buildings like schools, health centres and libraries.
