Lalor, Team Canada advance at Women’s Baseball World Cup

Kelsey Lalor is helping Team Canada make a strong run at the Women’s Baseball World Cup.

The Red Deer native is playing left field for Canada at the tournament in Viera, Florida.

Through five round-robin games Lalor collected seven hits and six RBIs (tied for 4th best at the tournament) in 14 at bats as Canada racked up a 4-1 record to finish second in Pool B.

Lalor made a highlight reel catch in Canada’s 9-6 win over Australia on Saturday and crushed a two-run home run Sunday in a big 18-1 triumph over the Dominican Republic.

Canada will take on the third place team from Pool A in Super Round play on Tuesday.
