Rocky RCMP Weekly Report: August 16 to 20

Two incidents of intoxication were reported this week, one involving an 11 month old baby in the vehicle.

On August 16 at 3:45 p.m., police received a report of a break and enter in Clearwater County where guns and a blue/grey 1994 Ford diesel pickup were stolen. The truck was recovered three days after the incident.

On August 17 at 7:13 p.m., police assisted in removing an intoxicated man from a local Rocky restaurant. EMS attended and transported the man to hospital after he fell and hit his head outside of the establishment.

On August 18 at 11:13 a.m., police received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle surrounded by bottles and garbage at a least site in Clearwater County. A youth is the registered owner of the vehicle, and had their parents contacted. The youth will clean up the site and retrieve the vehicle.

On August 18 at 1:20 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Sunchild First Nation with a male passed out behind the vehicle. Police arrested the man, who lied about his identity and attempted to flee on foot. A loaded shotgun, meth, scales and cash were discovered in the vehicle. The man was charged and will appear in court at a later date.

On August 8 at 3:31 p.m., police responded to the theft of a white 1999 Ford F450 with a deck and bucket lift, stolen from Caroline. The Alberta license plate is BJW0062.

On August 19 at 8:14 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle abandoned on the Andy Miller Road in Clearwater County. The vehicle had been driving around earlier and was reported stolen. Two males were arrested for a break and enter at a compressor station nearby, chargers are pending.

On August 20 at 1:31 p.m., police received a complaint of a suspicious male in a silver Chrysler 300 attempting to sell jewelry to people on the side of highway 11 and range road 6-3. It’s currently under investigation.

On August 20 at 5:54 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated driver in Nordegg. The disqualified driver was arrested and provided breath samples twice the legal limit. Multiple intoxicated adults were in the vehicle, along with an 11-month-old baby.
