Grade 2s reading and writing like champs after Reading College

Jul 27, 2018 | 3:10 PM

Another year of Reading College has wrapped up for the 7th time.

This summer, 63 students headed into grade three took in 20 days of learning how to improve their reading and writing skills.

They were given diplomas during a ceremony at Red Deer College on Friday where the program takes place.

“These kids have the best summer ever,” says Bruce Buruma, Executive Director of the Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools. “That’s the first thing we want them to do. They’re just inspired to read and write, these are kids who are struggling but over 20 days they really become great writers and readers and word-skilled students.”
