Alberta Sheriff/RCMP release May traffic statistics

The Capital West Alberta Sheriff/RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit has released violation numbers for last month for the areas of Drayton Valley, Thorsby and Breton.

In May 88 speeding tickets were issued, 24 occupant restraints (seatbelts) tickets were given and 11 distracted driving notices were written up.

Three drivers were suspended and one person was charged with impaired driving over the month. A further 37 other provincial tickets were issued.

In April there were 116 speeding tickets issued, 12 occupant restraints (seatbelts) tickets were given and 3 distracted driving notices were given. 

Two drivers were suspended and a further two were charged with impaired driving in April.
