Tax lawyer Jason Stephan joins crowded Red Deer – South UCP race

Jason Stephan, President of the Red Deer Taxpayers’ Association, has entered the race to win the United Conservative Party nomination in the Red Deer – South riding.

In a release, Stephan says he believes government institutions need to set an example by living within their means and being wise stewards of their resources.

“When governments fail to do so, we are all the worse off for it,” he says. “Under the NDP, the Alberta budget deficit for 2016-2017 was $10.8 billion, estimated at $9.1 billion for 2017-2018, and forecasted at $8.8 billion for 2018-2019.”

Stephan says he supports the principles of freedom, that he is running to serve and will seek to maintain a culture of excellence, and that he can offer unique qualifications.

Stephan is also a tax lawyer at CA Tax Law.
