Unofficial results show a competitive Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo

The 4th annual Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo wrapped up over the weekend, with hundreds turning out to saddle up at the Omniplex and enjoy the show.

Jesse Popescul of Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan walked away with multiple first place finishes, including the top spot in tie-down roping. Popescul also achieved the high point of the rodeo with $3,037.

Total payoff was down slightly this year, settling at $46,384 compared to nearly $52,000 in 2017. 

Here are the unofficial results from the three day event: 

Bareback riding: 1. Ty Taypotat, 86 points on C+ Rodeo’s The Graduate, $1,1892; 2. Seth Hardwick, 85.5, $984; 3. (tie) Clint Laye and Gavin Derose, 84.5; $676 each; 5. Logan Hodson, 83.5, $369; 6. Tate Hartell-Macdonald, 82, $205.
