Two dead following truck vs motorcycle crash east of Innisfail

Two people are dead following a crash between a truck and motorcycle east of Innisfail Saturday afternoon.

RCMP say it happened around 3:50 p.m. when an eastbound truck on Highway 590 tried to turn north onto Range Road 260 and collided with a westbound motorcycle.

The 35-year-old male driver and the 34-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle were pronounced deceased on scene. The male driver of the truck was not injured.

As a result, traffic was re-routed around the collision area for several hours.  

Innisfail Mounties and an RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate.
