A tip that a stolen laptop was in the process of being sold led to four people being arrested last month in Wetaskiwin.

It happened on March 28 when Westaskiwin RCMP were informed Beaumont Mounties were investigating a targeted robbery where property was stolen. Police say the property owner from Beaumont located his laptop being sold online and reported it to RCMP.

The next day, Wetaskiwin RCMP were able to intercept the person attempting to sell the item in Wetaskiwin, which then led to a search warrant and ultimately four people being charged.

Other items seized during the search included a sawed-off firearm, hand-held stun gun, drugs, drug trafficking paraphernalia and various stolen property.

Thomas Reardan, 33, of Wetaskiwin has been charged with possession of prohibited firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an illegal substance (methamphetamine), possession of stolen property under $5,000, trafficking of stolen property, two counts of breach of recognizance, possession of a firearm contrary to court order and numerous other firearm offences.

Jennifer Pulak, 36, has been charged with possession of prohibited firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an illegal substance (methamphetamine), possession of stolen property under $5,000 and numerous other firearm offences.

Reardan remains in custody for a Wetaskiwin court appearance April 24, while Pulak appeared in Wetaskiwin court April 3 and was released on her own recognizance.

A 19-year-old man from Wetaskiwin has also been charged with two counts of breach of probation, while an 18-year-old Wetaskiwin man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm / prohibited weapon and possession of marijuana.
