Red Deer College hosting Central Alberta Rotary Science Fair

An event promoting science education and research skills in today’s students is taking place at Red Deer College this week.

The Central Alberta Rotary Science Fair is March 23 and 24 at RDC, with students from Ponoka to Carstairs/Cremona, up to Rocky, over to the Saskatchewan border and points in between all taking part.

Event organizers say students from Grades 5 – 12 are invited to take part in the science fair, with the top six students in Grade 7 – 12 eligible to participate in the annual Canada Wide Science Fair held at Carleton University in Ottawa May 12 – 19.

The agenda includes project set-ups Friday afternoon and judging from 6 – 9 p.m. that evening.

On Saturday, March 24, secondary students return to the fair for additional judging during the morning, with grade five and six students attending during the morning as well.

After lunch, public viewing will take place from 1:30 – 4 p.m., with the awards ceremony between 4 – 5 p.m.
