Preliminary hearing scheduled in alleged Red Deer stabbing

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Red Deer teen charged in an alleged stabbing incident this summer.

Kayden Lawrence Jarvis, 18, is scheduled to see if his case has enough evidence to go to trial in Red Deer Court of Justice on May 6, 2027.

Jarvis was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and failing to comply with a release order following an incident on July 1, 2026.

Police say they responded to a 911 call at 4:43 a.m. on Canada Day for an alleged stabbing in the Riverside Meadows area.
