City of Lacombe to receive $414,000 provincial grant for policing support

The City of Lacombe is set to receive over $414,000 to go towards the Lacombe Police Service.

Last Monday, Lacombe City Council received confirmation that the community will be presented with $414,064 from the provincial Policing Support Grant.

The funding agreement, according to the city, is effective from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with the funds to be issued after the agreement is executed.

According to the city, the funding helps municipalities that fund their own police services and may support police service delivery, governance and oversight, provincial policing priorities, and enhanced local policing services.
