Red Deer Tennis Club hosts over 300 at recent tournaments

The Red Deer Tennis Club is proud to have hosted two significant tournaments this summer.
First was the Tennis Alberta Junior Provincial Championships, followed by the Alberta Open Tennis Championships. The last time Red Deer hosted these tournaments was in 2024 and 2007, respectively.
In total, approximately 320 players participated, making for an exciting couple weeks of action on the court.
“We were excited to host these tournaments at the Red Deer Tennis Club, which really is the sweet spot for these kinds of events. Since it sits right between Calgary and Edmonton, where most of our competitive players train, it makes travel manageable for families and coaches coming from either direction,” said Colin Latchford, Tennis Alberta executive director.
