Red Deer building permit values reach $16 million in July

The City of Red Deer announced that building permit values totalled $16 million in July.

This is compared to the $30.7 million reported in July of last year.

In addition, year-to-date building permit values are $58.45 million in 2026, compared with $1.03 billion at the same time last year.

Some notable permits include Hope Mission construction on 139 Northey Avenue valued at $6.2 million and Phase 1 of construction for a building on Thomlinson Avenue valued at $1.2 million. Furthermore, construction of a Shoppers Drug Mart on 54 Ave. is valued at $1.1 million.
