Red Deer region unemployment rate decreases for second straight month
The provincial job numbers are in for July, and Red Deer’s unemployment rate has decreased from 6.3 per cent in June to 6.1 per cent.
However, according to the Alberta Labour Force Statistics, it’s down from the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate reported in May for Red Deer, at 6.7 per cent.
The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate in other economic regions in Alberta includes 7.2 per cent in Edmonton, the same as last month, and 6.7 per cent rate in Calgary, down from 7.0 per cent in June.
Meantime, Alberta’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.0 per cent, unchanged from the previous month and down 0.9 percentage points from the same month last year.
