2026 Women’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championships begin in Blackfalds

The teams competing in the tournament includes the defending champion Carnduff Southeast Steelers from Saskatchewan, the Équipe Québec Sénior, the Calgary Black Sox, the Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes from Ontario, the Prairie Pirates from Saskatchewan, the Calgary Kaizen, and the Aurora Diggers from Ontario.

Games started at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and ran all day through to the last games at 6 p.m. The opening ceremonies were also held at 5 p.m.

They’ll start back up on Thursday at 10 a.m. through to the last game at 6 p.m. with the same format on Friday.

On Saturday games will begin a 9:30 a.m. with the championship final at 6:15 p.m. There will also be three games on Sunday.

The Bandits previously hosted the tournament in 2024 where teams from across Canada including Quebec, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta, New Brunswick, and Manitoba competed for the national title. Softball Canada estimated approximately 800 to 1,000 spectators came out to Sterling Sports Park to watch the tournament.

The Bandits represented the community and finished fifth after falling to the Oromocto Silverbacks from New Brunswick in their lone playoff game.

The Carnduff Southeast Steelers from Saskatchewan were crowned the national champions after defeating Ontario’s Oakville Angels 6-3.
