Red Deer RCMP have charged an 18-year-old man, allegedly responsible for a stabbing incident that took place on July 1.

Red Deer’s Kayden Jarvis was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and failing to comply with a release order.

Police say they responded to a 911 call at 4:43 a.m. that day for a stabbing in the Riverside Meadows area.

They found a 42-year-old man with serious life-threatening injuries, who was then taken to hospital by EMS.

Mounties say they immediately located the suspect, and there was no further risk to the community.

Red Deer RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) then executed a search warrant on a residence in the Riverside Meadows area, and with the assistance of Red Deer General Duty and Red Deer RCMP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), police charged Jarvis.

Following a Judicial Interim Release (JIR) hearing, Jarvis was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on July 3, 2026.
